Hotel chain needs franchisees

A new UK based chain of no-frills hotels, under the name easyHotel, needs overseas franchisees. Set up by Stelios, who founded easyJet, and under his easyGroup company the hotels offer basic budget accommodation for travellers. Lawrence Alexander, a former commercial director at Jarvis hotel, is overseeing the venture and has been meeting potential franchisees across the world.

The first easyHotel was a prototype and opened in South Kensington, west London in August 2005. Since then another hotel has been opened in Basle, Switzerland and a further two are due to open in London over the next few months. As well as this easyHotel also has an agreement with Istithmar, a Dubai based company, to expand the chain across the Middle East, North Africa and India.
