Thomas Green's grocery franchise brings British cuisine to France

Hatem says: 'A lot of British families want to give their children the same treats they had when they were little and I have received a number of requests from the English speaking community already. Custard creams, sweets such as Refreshers, British sausages, Cheddar cheese and Christmas crackers will soon be available to everyone in Strasbourg.'
The premises, located at 48 Rue Boecklin, Robertseau, close to the COE buildings, is being opened by Terry Davis the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe, who is attending in a personal capacity. An official from the Tunisian Consulate will also be attending.
'As an important international centre Strasbourg is a natural location for us after the success of shops in Paris and The Hague,' says Thomas Green's Managing Director Philip Evans. 'We have found that well over 50 per cent of our customers in France are French and 50 per cent in Holland are Dutch so we don't just cater for Brits broad - we have a much wider reach into the local population which is something we intend to build on.'
