A new ethical cosmetic retail franchise opportunity has recently become available. Stenders, a Latvia based company, is looking to recruit a Master Franchisee to oversee its expansion across selected International markets as well as Area Developer and single unit franchisees.

Stenders, which specialises in manufacturing and selling ethical, handmade bath products and accessories, brings to the market a unique franchise concept with its Latvian branded retail shops. The interiors of Stenders' shops have an old-fashioned, rustic feel that is created through the furnishings of wooden floors and exposed beams. As well as this the company focuses on its customer service to build solid relationships with customers that helps to generate long-term repeat business.

Proven franchise model

Since it was founded in 2001, Stenders has expanded to over 160 outlets in 17 countries including Russia, China, Japan, Sweden, Luxemburg, Hungary, Poland, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and the Baltic States. The majority of this expansion has been through franchising.

As well as looking to recruit franchise owners in these markets Stenders is aiming to sign up Master Franchisees for, amongst others, the UK, USA, Germany, France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Greece.

Franchise opportunity

Stenders' long-term aim is to have a network of shops providing nationwide coverage in all of these sectors. A single unit franchise will cost £18,950 plus premise costs and a Master Franchise costs from £100,000 with actual costs varying depending on the local market. Potential franchisees do not need retail experience as the company will provide a training package, however franchisees will need to demonstrate enthusiasm for the products and motivation to build a successful business. Excellent customer service and people skills are a must as well as the ability to develop and lead a team of employees.

Stenders franchisees will receive:
  • Five days operational training course at the Stenders head office in Riga, Latvia
  • Five days of further training where someone from head office will prepare the franchise owner in all aspects of running the business
  • Support network
  • Licensing rights
  • Operations manual that explains every aspect of running a Stenders franchise
