Established in Canada as Trade Secrets in 1989, the brand has grown to become Canada's largest professional retailer of its kind with over 77 stores in Canada and the USA.
Director of Franchising, Doug Warren reports: "We have eight multiple store franchisees who between them own 33 stores and they keep looking for more which is an indicator of our success." Glamour Secrets, which is the name of the worldwide brand, plans expansion in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Singapore, China and Brazil. Glamour Secrets plans to open Master Franchises as it expands internationally.
Looking good is an international business estimated at US $62 billion (according to Mintel) and beauty is widely recognized as a recession proof industry.
Former salon owner Joe Belotti founded Glamour Secrets having discovered that what generated the greatest returns was not cutting hair but selling associated products. He started selling professional beauty products in the front of the salon and the rest is history. Glamour Secrets attracts people who are willing to spoil themselves with better products. It's a high repeat business two income streams, retail and salon.
The key to Glamour Secrets success will be replicating the total shopping experience in every market with stylish upscale stores, thousands of products on sale and for sale from hair products all the way down to nail, esthetics, skin care line and accessories. It is an all in one "Beauty Candystore" for our customers. Each store features try before you buy tester bars with everything that is available in the store available for testing such as well-known brands, Rusk, Redken, Bedhead, OPI, Abba, Sebastien and Joico. The customers love the atmosphere, the clean and upbeat nature of the stores that offer many great prices and deals for the customer.
An average store is between 1,000 - 1200 sq. ft. situated in high traffic convenient locations with fashion retailers nearby. "We are very choosy with our locations and are located beside some of the top fashion retailers in the world," explains Warren. "Our store volumes are very high and margins are very good." The store appeals to the average income and upper customer who wants high quality at a very affordable price as well as getting pampered in the salon.
Master Franchisees can look forward to their own exclusive market, complete support, years of experience in the beauty industry as well as the franchise industry. Glamour Secrets can provide guidance and expertise in store design, construction, merchandising, retailing, customer service, advertising and personnel. Glamour Secrets can also provide the necessary buying power to enter new markets supplying over 77 stores from its distribution center in Toronto.
We will train Master Franchisees for four weeks on all aspects of their role from developing their market, support, compliance, inventory management and warehousing. It is an opportunity to get in on a ground floor with a leader in the beauty retail/salon industry. Markets will vary by size and composition but beauty is a force right across the world and Glamour Secrets offers the Master Franchisee an unprecedented opportunity to profit from its explosive growth.
