The British & International Franchise Exhibition is one of the major European franchising events of the year. The exhibition provides a whole host of new and exciting business opportunities from all over the world, enabling budding franchisees to meet with a wide range of well-established franchise companies. This provides visitors with the chance to assess the benefits of running their own business as part of an established successful franchise brand.
The exhibition will feature a diverse range of over 200 franchise business options and includes exhibiting franchise companies such as Coffee Republic, Cash Generators, ChipsAway, iSoldIt UK, Snap-on-Tools, Snappy Snaps, Thresher Group, Bairstow Eves Countrywide and Your Move to name but a few.
Held in association with the British Franchise Association (bfa) and supported by The Daily Mail, Business Franchise, and Franchise World and sponsored by Sherrards Solicitors, the British & International Franchise Exhibition will again feature a unique International Pavilion and conference featuring a whole host of global franchise opportunities looking to expand into the UK. They include La Retoucherie de Manuela, the leading Spanish clothing repair and alteration specialist; Mathnasium from the USA, providing after school maths skills tuition; Sign A-Rama, also from the USA and The Mad Science Group from Canada, a leading provider of science tuition for children.
A new feature in 2007 will be the Franchise Match-Making Zone. Designed specifically to assist prospective franchisees choose the most suitable franchise options available to them, the Zone enables visitors to maximise their time at the event. By indicating their level of investment and key business sector interests, the Zone will provide visitors with a bespoke route around the exhibition.
Also new for 2007 is the Women in Franchising Zone, sponsored by SureSlim. This is a dedicated area within the exhibition featuring leading women entrepreneurs who will offer inspiration and valuable advice to those looking to start their own franchise businesses.
Seminars
A further highlight of the exhibition is a series of free seminars run by the bfa. They include:
• 11am & 2pm Friday and Saturday - 'An introduction to franchising' - for prospective franchisees.
These seminars are aimed at aspiring business owners, new to the franchising concept and will address issues including: the benefits of franchising versus other business formats; what the franchisor looks for in a franchisee; what a franchisee should look for in a franchisor; the size and the expected growth in the franchise market; the initial choice of franchise; the business plan and the finance and how to get it. The panellists are all either bfa affiliated or bfa members.
• 12.30pm Friday and Saturday - 'How to franchise your business' - for prospective franchisors. This free hour-long seminar consists of a short introduction to franchising as a means of expanding an existing business or developing a new venture.
