A delivery/carry out pizzeria concept which offers a bolt-on dine-in concept, Figaro's was launched in 1981 and taken over by Berger in 2001. Currently serving his third term as a member of the Board of Directors of the International Franchise Association, Berger has brought all his decades of franchising experience to bear on developing a concept for the international market.

"The Figaro's concept has been finely tuned and tested by nearly 25 years of operation in many different environments," says Berger. "Figaro's units operate as freestanding stores, on pads and in strip centre locations, ranging in size from 500sqft to 3,000sqft. They also operate inside other retail environments such as service stations, are co-branded with sandwich, ice cream, chocolate and espresso/coffee shops. In some locations, Figaro's co-brands with several other concepts in the same store.

"Since 2001 we have been busy improving on the concept. We commissioned a branding study, broadened the menu offerings so that our stores now enjoy a lunch business in addition to the traditional evening business, developed and are rolling out impactful new marketing materials and commissioned a new store design incorporating elements which deliver a powerfully attractive, highly appealing store. I believe we have a recipe for terrific success."
