BACKGROUND TO THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY 12 years ago, Hywel Philippart struck up an acquaintance with a member of a remote tribe from a village in Borneo. Further research led him to a US based, chemical research and development companycalled ProTec International. Founded in 1988, ProTec had successfully developed environmentally safe products for the fuel, power plant and telecommunication industries in the United States and around the world.

After extensive laboratory testing and analysis, ProTec developed a non-hazardous chemical, which, with a speciallydesigned charger, successfully removed the accumulated plate sulphation on 12V lead acid automotive starter batteries. Wanting to provide the Borneo villages with a truly reliable means of re-energising batteries, Hywel then spent more than a year researching and testing the ProTec method.
